Christopher Gabany is an Electrical Field Engineer with the Penn State Facilities Engineering Institute (PSFEI). Gabany provides engineering support for electrical systems to PSFEI clients across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. His areas of expertise include electrical engineering studies, design reviews of electrical projects, troubleshooting electrical systems, project management, providing technical recommendations, performing electrical preventative maintenance and testing services, and education. Gabany has over 25 years of electrical generation and distribution experience in the industrial, commercial, and military environments. Prior to joining PSFEI, Gabany was a faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown (UPJ) teaching undergraduate electrical and computer engineering courses with a power system focus. His previous experience includes PSFEI, HF Lenz Co., Westinghouse Electric Co., MET Electrical Testing, the U.S. Army, and Sony Electronics. He earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from UPJ. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Pennsylvania and holds Certified Power Quality Professional (CPQ), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), and Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certifications from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). Gabany is an Engineer Officer, a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserve.
